Netherlands gambling regulator issues penalty order to freebitco.in
The Dutch Gaming Authority (Ksa) imposes a penalty payment order on FBC B.V. for offering illegal games of chance on the website freebitco.in. Offering games of chance without the necessary permit is prohibited in the Netherlands.
The Ksa calls on FBC B.V. with the penalty payment order to immediately stop the illegal offer and to keep it stopped. If this is not complied with, a penalty payment of €280,000 per week with a maximum of €840,000 will be imposed.
On the site investigated it was possible to create a player account, make deposits and participate in the illegal games of chance offered. No technical measures have been taken on the site to prevent participation from the Netherlands.
The Netherlands has a regulated gambling market to better protect players. The Ksa therefore takes tough action against illegal offers. With a penalty payment order, illegal offers are often quickly stopped. Providers can also be fined for the period in which the illegal offer was available.
