Law enforcement officers detained the head of the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries Ivan Rudyi. He is suspected of aiding representatives of the aggressor country.

This was reported by a source of Ukrainian Pravda in law enforcement agencies.

Thus, Rudyi was detained on the morning of December 18 by employees of the State Bureau of Investigation and the Prosecutor General’s Office on suspicion of aiding representatives of the aggressor country.

According to the source, during the search, a considerable amount of a substance similar to a narcotic substance was found on the official.

Recently, the Commission has been under the sights of the media due to the operation of online casinos in Ukraine that are associated with russia.

Recall that in early December, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the second reading a bill on the liquidation of the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries.

During the pre-trial investigation, the SBI found that the institution he headed issued and, on his instructions, deliberately failed to take actions to revoke the online gambling licence of a commercial entity beneficially owned by Russians, and its representatives assisted the aggressor state.

“The decision was not made despite numerous examinations that showed that the operation of online casino threatens national security. In particular, the data of the Ukrainian military, who were casino customers, could easily get to the Russians,” the statement said. Source:
