Tennessee sports betting tops $5 billion in 2024
Tennessee sports betting operators accepted $5 billion in wagers in 2024. That represented an 11.3% increase from the $3.85 billion in wagers in the state.
The final month of the calendar year delivered dreary results for sports betting operators in the Volunteer State, with Tennessee sportsbooks reporting a 4.1% month-over-month drop in total handle and privilege taxes in December.
Overall, Tennessee’s sports betting handle finished off December at $569,849,216, which represented a 4.1% slump from where the same operators finished up November, when the state reported a total handle of $594,387,437.
As for the other financial line item that the Tennessee Sports Wagering Council reports each month, the amount of privilege taxes collected in December finished up at $10,516,365, also down 4.1% from November, when the Volunteer State collected $10,969,178 from sports betting operators.
