Regulator requests TonyBet to improve customer service in the Netherlands

Regulation

The Dutch Gaming Authority (Ksa) has confronted gambling provider TonyBet about the fact that they did not use a Dutch-language telephone customer service 24 hours a day.

Companies with a license from the Ksa must have a Dutch-language customer service available at all times for questions from players. This is important because players, especially in the context of the duty of care, must always be able to contact the provider in Dutch with questions or concerns.

Although TonyBet has had a license for some time, the company’s website has only been live since the end of 2024. Shortly after going live, the Ksa received a signal from a player who could only speak to customer service in English.

The Ksa then confronted the provider. TonyBet immediately took measures to rectify this, including hiring more Dutch-speaking customer service employees. The telephone customer service was therefore immediately available 24 hours a day in the Dutch language.
