Brazilian regulator suspends seven operators
The Prizes and Betting Secretariat (SPA) of the Ministry of Finance temporarily suspended seven betting companies from operating in Brazil as of this Friday.
Among them, Pixbet and FlaBet, sponsors of Flamengo, were suspended due to an ongoing administrative process. Bet da Sorte, which sponsors Santa Cruz-PE, is also on the list.
After the publication of the note, the Ministry sent an official note to the blog informing that “the decision aims to prevent, as a precaution, bets from offering bets, accepting deposits in the national territory and registering new bettors until they demonstrate proof of the cybersecurity of their operations.”

Article 8 of Ordinance SPA/MF No. 722/2024 provides for the obligation to submit an assessment report of the betting system within 90 days after obtaining authorization, which was not complied with by the suspended betting operators.
The lack of reports affects the security of bettors and the popular economy, the fight against money laundering and the collection of taxes and contributions. The measure affects all authorized sites of the company subject to the measure precautionary measure.
