Tonje Sagstuen to step down as Norsk Tipping CEO

People News

Tonje Sagstuen has today agreed with the board of Norsk Tipping to step down as CEO of the company.

The board and Tonje have concluded that the most important thing now is to get peace around the company and the important improvement processes that have been initiated.

Therefore, Tonje herself has chosen to step down as CEO after many months of very high work pressure. It is a decision that the board unanimously supports her in, says Sylvia Brustad, chairman of the board of Norsk Tipping.

Over the past year, Norsk Tipping has experienced a number of technical problems, with root causes that go back a long way. Sagstuen has been at the forefront of a number of processes to raise the quality of the work carried out by Norsk Tipping, and has also brought in external assistance to investigate how the errors could have occurred. Yesterday’s error with the prize amount is not a technical error, but the company will still investigate how this could have happened, to prevent something similar from happening again.

Tonje Sagstuen has worked at Norsk Tipping since 2014 and has been CEO since September 2023.

I would like to thank Tonje for the important and good job she has done for the company and for the improvement work she has initiated. This work will strengthen Norsk Tipping in the long term, says Brustad. Sagstuen herself has the following comment on her departure.

As a manager, it has been my responsibility to handle the mistakes that have occurred, and it has been very gratifying to see how a united Norsk Tipping has responded to the challenges and worked day and night to solve them.

Therefore, it is also incredibly sad to leave Norsk Tipping and all the talented people who work at Hamar. I will miss everyone I have worked with, but I am confident that all the improvement processes we have initiated are in good hands with the team we have in place, says Sagstuen.
