Ladbrokes, sponsors of the Ayr Gold Cup Festival, hosted a hilarious half-furlong sprint – the first of its kind in the UK – at the iconic racecourse, with ten jockeys swapping their saddles for sneakers to raise money for the Injured Jockeys Fund, and it was Jason Hart who came out on top by a clear distance.

Callum Rodriguez finished in second place, while Paul Mulrennan finished third, taking up the podium spots, in the 110-yard dash.

Based on the viral jockey race in Peru earlier this year, Ladbrokes incentivised the jockeys to take part by donating £200 to the Injured Jockeys Fund for every runner that lines up, raising £2,000 to the IJF.

Alex Apati from Ladbrokes said: “Racegoers must have thought something was seriously wrong when ten top jockeys burst out of the stalls without their horses! We’re chuffed so many names got involved for such a great cause, and huge congratulations to Jason Hart who walks away with the first Ladbrokes Jockey Sprint Trophy and bragging rights… for at least a year.”
