Svenska Spel to end association with Swedish women’s football association
Svenska Spel has collaborated with Elitfotboll Dam since 2009, and before that within the framework of the collaboration with the Swedish Football Association. The current agreement extends until the end of December 2026 and after reviewing the sponsorship portfolio, Svenska Spel has decided not to extend it after that.
We are very satisfied with the collaboration with Elitfotboll Dam and will invest fully during the rest of this season and the entire next season. However, we have been careful to announce in good time that we will not extend the agreement in order to give Elitfotboll Dam the best possible conditions to find another main sponsor, says Nicklas Biverståhl, Head of Sponsorship at Svenska Spel.
Svenska Spel is continuously working to develop and evaluate all sponsorship partnerships so that the investment in sports will have the greatest possible effect. The group has recently reviewed both sponsorship strategy and brand strategy.
– We have decided to engage in fewer collaborations in order to, among other things, put more effort into activating our agreements and with greater influence drive relevant issues together with our partners, says Nicklas Biverståhl.
The agreement with Elitfotboll Dam expires on the last day of December 2026.
