Veikkaus held change negotiations in October-November 2025, affecting 75 employees in three different functions.

The negotiations and related discussions have now been completed. The change is due to Veikkaus’ preparation for the new gambling system that will change in 2027. At that time, the market will be partially opened in Finland.

In the future, gambling companies other than Veikkaus will also have the opportunity to apply for a license for, for example, sports betting and online casino games. Lotto, Eurojackpot and, for example, physical slot machines will continue to be a Veikkaus monopoly.

As a result of the negotiations, 26 old job roles ended and 22 new ones opened. There were significant changes to 20 employment relationships.

Our strategic direction requires us to make changes, which have now been implemented in these negotiations. These solutions are always difficult from a human perspective, but necessary for Veikkaus’ future competitiveness, says Reija Laaksonen, Director of Human Resources and Communications.
