Danske Spil pays out record jackpots
Danske Spil yesterday awarded many millions to lucky Danes. On Boxing Day, 29 Danes became millionaires on Lotto, and on Boxing Day, two Danes won almost ten million kroner on Eurojackpot.
The employee at Danske Spil who drew the Christmas lottery has had a couple of very busy days at work. Yesterday, Friday, Boxing Day, a couple of the really big prize checks had to be found again.
In the Eurojackpot draw, no fewer than TWO Danes became millionaires.
The luckiest of the two comes from Syddjurs Municipality. The person in question had five correct winning numbers and a single star number on his ticket. This gives a second prize of no less than 6,040,095 kroner.
The other Dane who was lucky enough to win big had five correct winning numbers, but no star numbers on his ticket. This triggers a third prize worth 3,406,346 kroner. And maybe the lucky winner doesn’t even know that the ticket is worth several million. So if anyone has a ticket from Eurojackpot, check it out once more. Especially if it was bought at OK Plus in Slimminge between Køge and Ringsted – that’s where the winning ticket was printed.
“Over 30 millionaires in two days, that’s enough to get you in the Christmas mood. It’s always a great pleasure to hand out prizes to lucky Danes, and at Danske Spil we are happy every single time a prize is won in our lotteries. Even though it happens every single week that we hand out both small and very large amounts, it’s never an everyday occurrence for us,” says Malene Mølgaard, CEO of Danske Lotteri Spil, the company behind Lotto.
The two big million-dollar wins come just one day after Danske Spil made 29 Danes millionaires on Lotto: Two winners shared the first prize of 5.8 million each, two winners each won a million on Millionærchancen, while a total of 25 Danes won around a million in Det Store Julelotto.
And wow! It should also be mentioned that on Thursday evening there was actually a lucky winner from Bornholm who won 1,000,000 kroner on Keno.
