Washington reports $89.0 million in sports betting revenue
Washington sports betting market delivered record revnue in November. Total wagers fell short of October’s peak, yet Gross Gaming Revenue climbed to $11.7 million, the highest monthly total of the year. The explanation sits entirely in efficiency: sportsbooks held 13.16% of wagers, sharply above most prior months.
That shift pushed tax revenue to $2.81 million, also a 2025 high. November showed that in D.C., revenue outcomes are not dictated by betting volume but by how decisively operators convert handle into margin.
All figures below are sourced from official November 2025 reporting by the DC Office of Lottery and Gaming.
Across January–November, D.C.’s handle remained relatively stable, generally ranging between $50 million and $95 million per month. Revenue, however, varied widely. Months with compressed hold rates such as March and September—generated materially less tax despite comparable wagering activity.
