Betfred reports increased profits post-US exit, announcing £25 million dividend payout

Finance News

Betfred has experienced a significant rise in turnover and EBITDA following the strategic exit from less profitable international markets.

This positive performance has enabled the company to declare a dividend exceeding £25 million. In an extended 18-month reporting period, Betfred Group Holdings Ltd recorded a pre-tax profit of £129 million, with EBITDA before operating exceptional items reaching £293.8 million, supported by a turnover of £1.46 billion.

In contrast, the previous 53-week period witnessed a pre-tax loss of £71.7 million on a turnover of £908 million, with EBITDA before operating exceptional items recorded at £117 million.

The growth in turnover and pre-exceptional EBITDA for the 2024/25 period can be attributed in large part to the extended 78-week timeframe for these results. Additionally, the company noted enhanced performance across all divisions and a reduction in operating costs, attributable to the exit from unprofitable overseas operations. A dividend of £25.4 million was distributed during this reporting period.
