Underdog’s GuardDog invests in Regen automated savings platform
Underdog Fantasy’s responsible play innovation fund, GuardDog, has made an investment in Regen, a platform that lets users link their sportsbook, fantasy sports, and prediction market accounts and automatically allocate a small percentage of each entry, win, or loss to savings.
Underdog Fantasy’s Vice President of Responsible Gaming, Adam Warrington, emphasized that the move is aligned with the company’s strategy to strengthen responsible gaming practices across formats. As part of the partnership, Underdog will feature Regen as a resource in its responsible play hub, promote it in customer communications, and provide access for all employees.
For investors, this development underscores Underdog Fantasy’s focus on responsible gaming infrastructure and compliance, which can be increasingly important in regulatory evaluations and market access decisions.
The investment in Regen positions Underdog as an active participant in shaping player-protection tools, potentially reducing long-term regulatory and reputational risks associated with real-money gaming and fantasy sports.
While the immediate revenue impact is likely limited, enhancing the company’s responsible play credentials could support sustainable user growth, facilitate partnerships with regulators and operators, and differentiate Underdog in a competitive fantasy and sports betting ecosystem.
GuardDog’s continued deployment of capital into similar solutions may also create a broader network of innovative tools that reinforce Underdog’s standing as a responsible operator and innovation stakeholder in the industry.
