Lottery Corporation shakes up leadership with digital-first strategy
The Lottery Corporation unveils a fresh operating model and executive leadership team shake-up, aiming to accelerate its strategy and foster further growth.
The Lotteries division, under COO Callum Mulvihill, will manage core lottery products across both retail and digital channels. A newly separated Digital unit, led by Loren Somerville as COO, will focus exclusively on apps, web platforms, and what the company describes as “adjacent lottery entertainment” opportunities. The Keno division, under COO Antony Moore, will continue to oversee venue-based and online Keno operations.
Supporting these three divisions will be an expanded enterprise services layer. CFO Adam Newman’s responsibilities have been significantly broadened to encompass not only financial and corporate services but also legal, risk, cyber security, and technology functions. Rob Ure has been elevated to Chief Strategy Officer, while Michelle Williams takes on the newly created role of Chief People and Brand Officer.
The restructure comes with notable departures. Andrew Shepherd, Chief Customer and Marketing Officer, and Nicholas Allton, Chief Legal and Risk Officer and Company Secretary, will both leave the business when the new structure takes effect. Newman will serve as interim Company Secretary from 31 March 2026 while the company searches for a permanent replacement, with Kimberley Chan continuing as the ASX liaison under listing rule requirements.
The organisational changes represent the first major structural move by CEO Wayne Pickup, who assumed the top job in late 2025 following Sue van der Merwe’s retirement. At the company’s half-year results presentation in February, Pickup outlined three strategic priorities: accelerating evolution as a digital entertainment company, focusing on local regulated markets, and driving focused execution through innovation and disciplined capital allocation. The March restructure directly operationalises those themes, giving each business unit clear accountability and dedicated leadership.
