Genius Sports and Liga MX seal technology and AI partnership

Partnership Deals

Genius Sports has announced a technology partnership with Liga MX to deploy its GeniusIQ platform across all league stadiums.

The platform combines tracking, video and data analytics to support advertising, broadcast enhancements, officiating and performance analysis. The system went live at the start of the 2026 Clausura season.

GeniusIQ powers Semi-Automated Offside Technology (SAOT) in Liga MX, which automates kick point detection and provides 3D renderings of offside decisions for video assistant referees. The technology is also used in the Premier League and Belgian Pro League.

The Moment Engine feature enables sponsors to activate real-time advertising around specific game events such as goals, saves or substitutions across broadcasts and digital platforms. The technology is currently deployed in the NFL and NBA.

The platform provides augmented broadcast features including real-time statistics such as shot speeds, player names and tackle counts integrated into live broadcasts for domestic and international viewers.

Liga MX teams will receive access to Performance Studio, an analytics and video platform that includes ProView3D, which allows coaches to review match moments from players’ perspectives.

“At Liga MX, we are very happy to close this partnership with Genius Sports, as it represents a significant step in elevating our competition to the standards of the world’s leading leagues,” said Edgar Martínez, VP of Content at FMF.
