DraftKings secures approvals for prediction market launch
DraftKings-owned Railbird Exchange seems to be nearing the listing of its inaugural sports event contracts, a development that may enable DraftKings Predictions to utilize more of its proprietary exchange infrastructure following its initial launch with contracts sourced from third-party venues.
On the morning of May 26, six product certifications that were first made available on Railbird’s regulatory page were also posted on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s public filing portal under Railbird’s registered entity identifier, REX.
These filings outline a comprehensive sports prediction-market menu, with Railbird, operating under the name DKeX, self-certifying templates for game winners, spreads, game and player props, head-to-head performance markets, and additional offerings. According to the filings, the contracts are set to be initially listed after the close of business on May 27, 2026.
Each filing indicates that Railbird plans to list the contracts “on a custom basis,” signifying that the templates can be employed to establish specific markets associated with various teams, players, competitions, time frames, and outcomes. The filings encompass a broad spectrum of sports, including football, basketball, baseball, hockey, golf, MMA, motor sports, soccer, and tennis. Additionally, some templates make reference to college sports and international leagues.
