DraftKings has unveiled Moonshot, a new live betting feature available on DraftKings Sportsbook for MLB games.

Moonshot allows customers to place a single, dynamic wager that builds in value as the action unfolds toward a target payout. Predefined values are assigned to every outcome, with the biggest moments accelerating progress toward a target payout.

“DraftKings continues to lead the way in live betting by delivering innovative ways for fans to engage with the game as it happens,” said Corey Gottlieb, Chief Product Officer at DraftKings. “Moonshot adds to the excitement of betting on a live MLB game, bringing a fun multiplier mechanic to the action. We’re always looking for ways to make live sports more engaging for our customers.”

Customers select a live MLB game, place a wager before the next qualifying plate appearance and choose a target multiplier for their payout. The potential payout increases based on predefined multipliers tied to batter outcomes (i.e. Double: +2x), and customers can cash out at any time prior to reaching their target payout, or an out being recorded. A Moonshot bet settles as a win if the selected target payout is reached. If an out is recorded before the target is reached or the customer cashes out, the wager ends. 

The feature will initially be available in 18 jurisdictions on a rollout basis — AZ, CT, CO, DC, IN, KS, KY, ME, MI, NH, NY, OH, , PA, TN, VT, WV, WY and Ontario, Canada.
