Nicholas Green steps down as Underdog’s General Counsel

People News

Nicholas Green, General Counsel of Underdog has officially departed following nearly four years of dedicated service with the company.

Posting on LinkedIn Nicholas said: After almost four years, Friday was my last day at Underdog.I am so proud of what we’ve accomplished, and will be rooting for the entire team from the sidelines as a shareholder.

Four years is a long time to grind. Underdog is a rocket ship, and for many reasons it just felt right to find my next step. Mostly all on my end: My confidence is Underdog is as high as it’s ever been.

Since August 2022, among so many other things, we::Skyrocketed from 450m in enterprise value to being a true unicorn (multiple times over);- Built a world-class in-house legal team from the ground up;
Fought and won against incumbent operators who wanted to kill our innovative fantasy sports products;- Launched the country’s first totally in-house built online sportsbook; – Raised a ton of capital and negotiated game-changing debt financing deals and marketing agreements;

Became an FCM, while also buying a DCM/DCO that will launch this summer on CFTC-regulated rails with the premier sports experience in the industry; and- Created entirely new products and customer experiences for sports fans within the regulatory frameworks for fantasy sports and prediction markets.

All that said, accomplishments aren’t the goal. What matters are the relationships that I’ve been privileged to build along the way.

Jeremy Levine is a truly exceptional founder, and it’s been a real honor to be his go-to counsel. Having his trust and being his GC is the kind of trusted advisor relationship that made me want to be a lawyer. I can’t think of a better client, boss, or friend.

Brandon Stakenborg is a wizard. Dustin Cooper was my first boss at Underdog and is a real friend. The entire exec and senior leadership team at Underdog are talented beyond comprehension. Stacie Stern is, of course, THE OG and I owe her a ton for introducing me to Underdog way back in 2022.

My heartfelt love goes out to the Underdog legal team (The Law Dawgs). Thanks for all you have done and will continue to do.
