The Lottery Corporation posts full year revenue of A$3.6 billion

The Lottery Corporation reported a 22% decline in annual net profit to A$284.6 million for the 2025/26 financial year, with revenue down 2.7% to A$3.6 billion.

Chief executive Wayne Pickup attributed the result to a rare absence of large jackpots: no Powerball draw reached A$100 million for the first time in five years, and no Oz Lotto hit A$50 million for the first time in nine years, costing about A$350 million in revenue. The outcome was described as a one-in-45-year event.

A November price increase for Powerball tickets partially offset the shortfall. The company reported 8.3 million active customers and sees more than four million unregistered players as a conversion opportunity.

FY 2026 revenue was AUD 3.6 billion, supported by a diversified portfolio despite softer jackpot activity. EBITDA before significant items fell only 1.8% to AUD 736 million, a relatively modest decline given jackpot turnover dropped 21%.

Digital share increased 90 basis points, even though jackpot games, which tend to skew more digital, had weaker turnover.
