PointsBet shareholders hand down strike at AGM

PointsBet Holdings Limited has confirmed the results of its Annual General Meeting held on 25 August 2026, where shareholders approved the re-election of director Sam Swanell by poll.

The meeting also saw the Remuneration Report adopted; however, more than 25% of votes were cast against it, triggering a first strike under the Corporations Act 2001 and signaling notable shareholder issues over executive pay.

The first strike on the Remuneration Report places PointsBet under closer scrutiny, as a second strike in a subsequent year could lead to a spill of the board.

This outcome highlights emerging governance pressures on the company’s leadership and may prompt adjustments to its remuneration framework to address investor expectations and maintain confidence in its corporate oversight.
