Arizona regulator awards new retail betting licenses

The Arizona Department of Gaming has announced that it has allocated nine limited event wagering operator licenses to local businesses in partnership with American Wagering Sportsbook and Skyfall, Turf Paradise.

Limited event wagering licenses are a license type that allows an event wagering operator to offer retail sports wagering in partnership with a racetrack or additional wagering facility, commonly known as an off-track betting location, that holds a permit issued by the Division of Racing.

As previously announced, the Department opened an application window for limited event wagering
licenses between and the department evaluated applications in accordance with the established criteria set forth in the State’s event wagering rules and statutes.

The Department will work with the licensees on the next steps for the operational launch. Limited
event wagering licensees are not authorized to offer mobile or online wagering and all wagers must
be placed in person at the approved physical location.
