The Lottery Corporation maintains dividend despite low jackpot year
The Lottery Corporation’s board and executives addressed shareholders at the 2026 Annual General Meeting in Sydney, highlighting the company’s role in funding public infrastructure and services while maintaining a nationwide footprint in retail and online lottery distribution.
Management emphasised the enduring link between lottery revenues and community benefits as central to the group’s purpose and positioning.
For the 2026 financial year, the company reported a resilient performance despite an exceptionally soft jackpot environment for Powerball and Oz Lotto, which did not reach their typical high jackpot levels and temporarily weighed on turnover and customer numbers.
Strong cash generation, disciplined cost control and portfolio diversification across games and channels supported stability, enabling the board to hold the full-year ordinary dividend steady at 16.5 cents per share and reinforcing TLC’s stance as a long-term investment proposition underpinned by long-dated licences and leading brands.
