HJK has signed the largest partnership agreement in the history of Finnish club sports with Betsson
HJK and Betsson have entered into the largest club partnership in Finnish history. The five-and-a-half-year partnership covers both the men’s and women’s first teams and provides the club with significant additional opportunities to pursue sporting success.
The collaboration begins on July 1, 2027, and continues until the end of 2032. The implementation of the partnership is contingent upon obtaining a license in accordance with Finnish gambling legislation.
“We would like to thank Betsson for this historic agreement. This extensive collaboration demonstrates HJK’s unique position in Finnish sports. Following a thorough process, we specifically sought an international and responsible operator like Betsson to help build the future of the club. This long-term agreement—significant in both financial and operational terms—enables us to invest even more heavily in achieving sporting success,” says Aki Riihilahti, CEO of HJK Oy.
“The scale of the agreement and the five-and-a-half-year commitment provide an exceptionally strong foundation for developing the operations of both first teams and pursuing even greater success in Finland and across Europe,” notes Jussi Raita, CEO of HJK’s women’s first team.
HJK will become part of Betsson’s international football family. Both Aki Riihilahti and Jussi Raita express their enthusiasm regarding Betsson’s experience in partnering with some of the world’s most renowned football clubs.
“We are truly proud and excited to welcome the flagship of Finnish football into our international football family, alongside other teams. HJK’s rich history, ambition, and passionate fan base make this a special partnership for us. We want to play a part in building the next great moments for ‘Klubi’,” says Jussi Metsiö, Country Manager for Betsson.
“We bring our experience from international football partnerships to this collaboration. A five-and-a-half-year agreement demonstrates our strong belief in HJK and the future of Finnish football,” Metsiö emphasizes.
