Svenska Spel create youth programme against match fixing
Swedish Elite football and Svenska Spel’s joint resource against match fixing lectures and educates young people in the Gothia Cup’s 17-year tournaments for the third consecutive year.
“It is an important target group of players who are heading towards the senior football,” says Anders Wikström, the Swedish elite football team and Svenska Spel’s resource against match fixing.
The lectures will take place in central Gothenburg in connection with the tournament and are mainly intended for the Swedish teams in the Gothia Puma Trophy. Anders Wikström has previously trained all 32 clubs in Allsvenskan and Superettan and is now training for the third year in a row the 17-year-olds who participate in the Gothia Cup.
As a young player you probably have not reflected so much around match fixing. You play football because it’s fun. By paying attention to this early, we hope to prevent future match fixing, says Anders Wikström.
