Emmanuelle Malecaze-Doublet will become the general manager of PMU and the first woman at the helm of the horse racing betting operator, while the former CEO of Bouygues Telecom Richard Viel will take over as non-executive chairman.

A graduate of HEC Paris and joining PMU in 2018 as financial director after spending six years with the consulting firm McKinsey & Company in France and the United States, Ms. Malecaze-Doublet, aged 35, will therefore be the first woman to run the horse racing betting operator.

The PMU generated a net result of 742 million euros in 2021, entirely donated to the French horse racing industry and is aiming for 820 million this year.
