Port Vale defender receives suspended ban after FA betting rules breach

Regulation

Mitch Clark has been given a suspended three-month suspension and £600 fine by an independent Regulatory Commission for breaching The FA’s Betting Rules.

The Port Vale defender admitted that he breached FA Rule E1(b) by placing 312 bets placed on football matches while playing for Accrington Stanley between 08 February 2022 and 10 March 2023.

The three-month suspension has been suspended for two years pending any further breach of The FA’s Betting Rules, and the independent Regulatory Commission’s written reasons for its decisions are below.

Under FA rules and regulations, there is a worldwide ban on betting on football in place for those involved in the sport from the Premier League level down to step four of the non-league pyramid.

This includes betting on matches, and other football-related matters such as transfers, signings, managerial appointments and sackings, or team selections.
