FA wants gambling companies to stop allowing bets on yellow cards

Regulation

The FA is requesting betting companies to stop offering bets on yellow cards and other in-game events. This is coming from worries that yellow card markets can be manipulated. This is information from the Daily Mail newspaper.

There have been investigations into betting on yellow cards in football. And players have always been on the receiving end. Recently, Lucas Paqueta’s bookings in three Premier League games led to an investigation and if found guilty he will be given years of match ban.

Along with looking to ban bets on bookings, the FA may also consider a similar move with other refereeing decisions, placing restrictions on other niche bets such as the number of cards, corners and penalties given by referees during specific games has also been discussed.
