Veikkaus suspends betting on men’s top-tier floorball amid match-fixing investigation
Sueki’s investigation supports Veikkaus’ data findings, according to which extensive illegal betting has taken place in Finnish men’s top floorball in recent years.
The matter became public in June 2025, when Veikkaus and the Finnish Floorball Association announced the matter.
According to Sueki’s investigation, approximately one hundred operators operating in the men’s F-League – players, coaches and other officials – have bet on matches in the series. It is prohibited in the agreements between Veikkaus and the F-League, as well as between the F-League and individual persons operating in the league teams. Violators have been found in all teams.
The Floorball Association and its subordinate F-League have previously announced that they will initiate a disciplinary process in relation to the matter once they have received the material from Sueki. According to Sueki’s announcement, the Finnish Floorball Association has now received most of the material.
The process also affects Veikkaus’ betting offering. Veikkaus’ recent decision is a continuation of the company’s policy made in the summer, according to which the men’s floorball matches at the World Games were not available for betting.
- Veikkaus will not offer the men’s F-League, the Finnish Cup, international matches or Inssi-divar games as betting markets until disciplinary decisions have been made. After that, we will reassess the situation, says Mikko Lahti, Veikkaus’ Director of Security and Risk Management.
