West Virginia hits new revenue record in December

Finance News

West Virginia’s online gambling and sports betting sector set another record in December 2025, hitting an all-time high of $1 billion million in monthly revenue.

The latest figures show that the state’s sports betting and iGaming market is continuing its fast expansion. It is up almost 72% higher than the same period last year.  DraftKings continues to dominate individually, holding the title as the single largest operator in West Virginia.

West Virginia has quietly become a standout example in the U.S. online casino market. Over the past several years, the state has seen steady growth in digital casino revenue, thanks to a regulated system that links online platforms with land-based casinos.

This hybrid model has allowed West Virginia to balance compliance, economic benefit and entertainment value, providing a clear illustration of how smaller markets can successfully integrate online gaming. Its experience demonstrates that careful regulation and thoughtful market design can create sustainable growth while maintaining player trust and community support.
