DraftKings set to open new tech hub in North Carolina

DraftKings is leasing nearly 12,000 square feet of space at Raleigh Iron Works, located along Atlantic Avenue in midtown.
The buildout for the suite is expected to be complete in the fall, according to Iron Works developer Grubb Ventures. Permits filed with the City of Raleigh say the space will be used for administrative offices.
DraftKings, headquartered in Boston, did not make officials available to comment on the company’s plans for the Raleigh office. Online sports gambling officially launched in North Carolina in 2024.
Office space at Raleigh Iron Works is now 98 percent leased, according to a spokesperson for Grubb Ventures.
The DraftKings lease joins other big-name tenants that have taken space at Raleigh Iron Works amid the flight to quality in the office market. DraftKings will go in next to the offices of global consulting firm McKinsey & Company.
The mixed-use development includes hospitality spots such as Ponysaurus Brewing and Jaguar Bolera as well as Italian restaurant Brodeto, Eastcut Sandwich shop and Andia’s Ice Cream.
