FanDuel to ban credit card deposits nationwide

Operator News

FanDuel Sportsbook has announced that starting March 2, it will no longer accept credit card deposits, mirroring a similar move made by DraftKings Sportsbook last August.

In a statement, FanDuel explained that this decision was part of an ongoing evaluation of its payment options. “Over the last few months, FanDuel has been assessing the payment methods available to our customers and decided to discontinue credit cards for our Sportsbook, casino, and racing offerings in the United States,” the company stated.

“This change aims to enhance the deposit experience for our customers.” In related news, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren from Massachusetts praised FanDuel’s decision. “Just last week, I questioned sports betting companies about the burdensome fees Americans face from credit card companies when placing bets – including a $10 junk fee on a $20 wager,” she posted online.

“I’m pleased to see FanDuel step up to protect consumers from these unnecessary charges, joining DraftKings in this effort. I urge the rest of the industry to take similar steps.” It’s worth noting that BetMGM and Caesars, two major sportsbooks with national reach, still allow credit card deposits.
