Lisa Nandy has been reappointed Culture Secretary after Prime Minister Andy Burnham confirmed his first cabinet appointments.

Nandy, the MP for Wigan, has led DCMS since July 2024, when she was appointed by outgoing PM Keir Starmer. Her retention makes her one of the few senior ministers to the transition to Burnham’s premiership.

According to a post on the Prime Minister’s X account, Nandy’s remit now includes responsibility for digital again, alongside culture, media and sport. Racing and betting currently fall under the Department for Culture.
