The Netherlands renews monopoly lottery licenses
The Netherlands Gambling Authority has granted Lotto B.V. a new five-year licence to offer Lotto, Eurojackpot, Lucky Day, scratch cards, and TOTO Winkel. Below is the response from Nederlandse Loterij regarding this decision by the regulator.
Lotteries in the Netherlands are well-organized, and millions of Dutch people enjoy participating in Nederlandse Loterij’s games. Nederlandse Loterij is therefore pleased with the new licence for Lotto B.V., which takes effect on 1 January 2027.
This enables us to continue offering lotteries and sports betting—through Lotto, Eurojackpot, Lucky Day, scratch cards, and TOTO Winkel—in a trusted and responsible manner for the next five years.
In doing so, we are building on a tradition that has been linked to the Netherlands for decades: by playing our games, participants can win attractive cash prizes while supporting sports, good causes, and society.
