Ryan Baasch joins Polymarket as VP of Legal and Government Affairs
Polymarket has appointed Ryan Baasch VP of Legal and Government Affairs. He was most recently Deputy Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and Deputy Director of the National Economic Council.
At the NEC he covered AI, emerging tech, telecom, space commercialization and competition policy.
Before that, Ryan held several leadership roles at the Texas Office of the Attorney General, including overseeing all of that office’s civil enforcement divisions and arguing many of that office’s landmark cases in the Fifth Circuit and Texas Supreme Court.
Earlier, he spent five years in Latham & Watkins’ litigation and appeals practice and clerked for Judge Karen LeCraft Henderson on the D.C. Circuit. He’s a graduate of UVA Law, where he was Order of the Coif and an Articles Editor on the Virginia Law Review. Ryan has worked on both sides of the table, writing scores of government policies from Washington, defending government policies in Texas, and challenging them from private practice.
That’s the experience we need as prediction markets enter their next chapter. We’re glad to have him leading our legal and government affairs work.
