New York mobile sports wagers top $600 million in October

New York’s mobile sportsbooks recorded impressive figures for the week ending October 18, reporting $63.3 million in gross gaming revenue on a handle of $614.1 million.

This marks the highest revenue since the week of July 12, when operators made $66.0 million, and it represents a significant increase from the $52.1 million earned the previous week, according to the New York State Gaming Commission.

Operators maintained a 10.3% hold on wagers. The handle saw a 5.8% uptick from the week ending October 11, though it remained just shy of the $619.4 million bet in the week concluding October 4, which remains the highest weekly figure so far this fiscal year. In comparison to the week ending October 19, 2025, there was a 9.0% increase in handle from $564.3 million, while revenue nearly doubled from $32.5 million, coinciding with a hold of just 5.8%.

Leading the way was FanDuel, which generated $27.3 million in revenue on a handle of $226.5 million, translating to a 12.1% hold. They accounted for about 37% of the statewide handle and 43% of the total revenue. DraftKings followed closely behind, reporting $20.9 million in revenue on $208.5 million in handle at a 10.0% hold.

Other operators included Fanatics with $5.8 million from $68.4 million, BetMGM with $4.1 million on $53.2 million, and Caesars with $3.1 million from $37.5 million, as detailed in the commission’s operator reports. Throughout the first 30 weeks of the commission’s 2026-27 fiscal year, mobile handle has reached $14.80 billion with revenue hitting $1.31 billion.

This is an increase compared to $13.93 billion in handle and $1.32 billion in revenue during the same period of the previous fiscal year, translating to a 6.2% rise in handle and a slight decline of about 1.0% in revenue.

According to the commission, New York applies a substantial tax rate of 51% on mobile sports wagering revenue. Revenue is reported on a cash basis, meaning bets on future events are counted when placed, while winning payouts are recognized upon redemption.
