PointsBet approved for sports betting launch in Kansas

Licensing

PointsBet has been awarded a provisional sports wagering certification by the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission, authorising the company to launch its sportsbook operations in Kansas, Missouri.

The bookmaker will be allowed to operate in Kansas from September 1. The launch lines up with the start of the US National Football League season.

“We are excited to be launching on the starting line and having our outstanding sportsbook product available to the people of Kansas from day one,” CEO and Managing Director Sam Swanell.

“With NFL season kicking off on September 9, the timing is perfect to showcase our NFL in-play betting capabilities in particular.”

The company secured market access in Kansas via a “primary skin” agreement with Kansas Crossing Casino, which operates Kansas Crossing Casino and Hotel.

Upon launch, Kansas will represent the company’s 11th online sportsbook operation in the US, following successful launches in states like Pennsylvania, West Virginia and New York.
