The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission (MLGCC) issued a mobile sports wagering license to Long Shot’s and its online operator Betfred Sportsbook on Thursday. 

Fredrick-based Betfred successfully completed a controlled demonstration of its mobile sports wagering platform on Feb. 7,, where customers participated in live wagering as Maryland Lottery and Gaming staff ensured that Betfred complied with all required procedures and that its systems functioned properly.

Betfred is the eighth mobile sportsbook operator to launch in Maryland, joining seven others that launched on Nov. 23, 2022.
