Another record quarter for Poland’s STS
STS Group one of the largest bookmakers in Central Europe and the market leader in Poland from January to June of this year generated revenue of PLN 299 million, which means an increase of 14% year on year.
In H1 2023, the Group’s net profit increased by 57% year on year, reaching the level of PLN 97 million. Adjusted EBITDA for the STS Group in the first quarter of this year amounted to PLN 157 million, i.e. 35% more than in the corresponding period of the previous year.
In the second quarter of this year, we continued to optimise processes within the STS Group. Therefore, in H1 of the year we significantly improved both the financial result and the adjusted EBITDA, which increased by 57% and 35% year on year, respectively. We assume that in the second half of the year the activity of our players will be higher, which should have a positive impact on our operational and financial indicators – says Mateusz Juroszek, President of the Management Board of STS Holding.
In H1 2023, STS Group generated NGR of nearly PLN 346 million, compared to PLN 296 million in the previous year. This represents a year-on-year increase by nearly 17%. From January to June 2023, the value of bets concluded by the clients of the STS Group amounted to PLN 2.302 billion, compared to PLN 2.189 billion last year. This represents a year-on-year increase by 5%. In H1 2023, the number of active users was 412,000. In H1 2023, the Group recorded 109 thousand new registrations, and the number of customers who made their first deposit amounted to 72 thousand.
In 2023, the STS Group ended its operations on foreign markets (licenses in the UK and Estonia), closing the possibility of registering accounts. The purpose of the reorganisation is to exploit, to the fullest extent possible, the potential of the Polish market.
On 7 July 2023, Entain Holdings (CEE) Ltd announced a tender offer to subscribe for the sale of shares of STS Holding S.A. The tender offer was announced in connection with the intention of Entain Holdings (CEE) Ltd to purchase 156,725,958 shares, representing in total 100% of the share capital of STS Holding. On 24 August 2023, Entain Holdings (CEE) Ltd, as a result of the transaction settlement, acquired a total of 155,591,656 shares in STS Holding S.A.
Entain Holdings (CEE) Ltd is a subsidiary of Entain PLC. Entain PLC owns 67.5% of the shares of Entain CEE. Emma Capital holds 22.5% of shares, while Mateusz and Zbigniew Juroszek’s family foundations hold 10% of shares. Entain Holdings (CEE) Ltd, apart from the STS Group, also owns the Croatian market leader – SuperSport.
