Missouri posts $273 million in April sports bets
In April 2026, Missouri sportsbooks reported an impressive $273,397,863 in total wagers, marking the state’s fifth month of legal operations.
This led to a notable revenue of $20,284,270, reflecting a hold percentage of 7.42%, the highest win rate since the launch of sports betting on December 1, 2025. The state’s tax revenue amounted to $2,028,427, collected at a rate of 10% on this revenue.
A significant portion of the betting activity came from online platforms, which accounted for $269,884,804, or 98.71% of total wagers, with retail sportsbooks contributing $3,513,059.
Although the overall handle was lower than March, the revenue remained nearly on par, indicating that Missouri is transitioning beyond its initial promotional phase into a more stable, mature market.
A key trend worth noting is the increase in the win rate. After starting at 3.82% in December and reaching a low of 1.74% in January, the hold has shown a steady recovery—3.72% in February, 6.30% in March, and finally 7.42% in April.
This upward trajectory is significant, as it explains how April’s revenue of $20.3 million came within approximately $473,000 of March’s $20.8 million, despite handling $56 million less in total wagers.
