DAZN Bet has applied and received approval from the German regulator to operate online sports betting throughout Germany.

The latest approvals for online sports betting licences granted include 888Sport.de, Torro Tec’s Tiptorro.de, Chilling Cheetah’s Chillybets.de, RULEO Alpenland’s mybet.de and Winamax.de.

According to a recent sports betting survey conducted in Germany in October 2022 – 24,19% of the population was involved in sports betting activities within the last 12 months.

In Germany, 37,76% of people who bet on sports are driven by the desire to “win money”; while 24,85% said they enjoy the excitement/experience of sports betting. Furthermore, participating in sports betting is also considered a factor which brings an additional element of fun for sports fans; 17,66% said they are more interested in watching/following a game after betting on results.

Sports bets takes place primarily over the internet. 84,05% of sports fans who participate in sports betting do this primarily via the internet/mobile apps.
