Virgin Bet Women’s Day returns for its third edition, celebrating the women of horse racing
Building on the success of previous iterations, this special raceday will champion the contributions of women across the industry, marking another milestone in Virgin Bet’s long line of social impact initiatives. The event aligns perfectly with Virgin Bet’s brand mission, ‘A Good Bet,’ which aims to break down pre-existing barriers within sports and culture at large.
A key highlight of the day will be the live Women of Horse Racing panel discussion led by presenter Natalie Pike, bringing together leading female voices in racing to share their insights and experiences. Taking place in the Lounge Bar from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm, the panel will explore the evolution of women’s roles in racing, career pathways, and the importance of representation in sport.
Panellists will include:
Hayley Moore (Television Presenter, Sky Sports Racing)
Laura Perkins (Veterinary Nurse, Berkshire Equine)
Gemma Waterhouse (COO, Racing Welfare)
Emma Kay (Founder, WalkSafe)
In addition to the racing action, Virgin Bet Easter Bank Holiday promises a fun-filled day out for all the family. Attendees can enjoy a lineup of female-led entertainment, including roaming music from a talented duo, face painters, and a bubbleologist. As part of the event’s focus on championing women in sport, local Women’s Institute sports groups will also be in attendance.
Virgin Bet Easter Bank Holiday marks the final raceday of the season in partnership with The Jockey Club, closing out a successful series of six racedays. Women’s Day is the last of three major racedays at Kempton Park, following Virgin Bet Raceday and Virgin Bet Big Day Out.
Additionally, as part of Virgin Bet’s raceday sponsorship, a donation will be made to Racing Welfare, whose work ensures the well-being and success of British horseracing’s workforce. At Women’s Day, Virgin Bet will also present a cheque for £28,000 to panellist and COO of Racing Welfare, Gemma Waterhouse, to celebrate over a year of giving back to the community that keeps the industry running.
With an inspiring panel, entertainment for all ages, and an exciting racecard, Virgin Bet Women’s Day at Kempton Park promises to be a highlight of the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
