Tennessee sports betting revenue up 9%
Tennessee sportsbooks processed $540,424,861 in wagers during January 2026, generating $49,449,125 in revenue at a 9.15% hold. The state collected $9,889,825 in tax revenue for the month.
The numbers represent near stability compared to January 2025. Handle declined modestly from $543.6 million last year, while revenue dipped slightly from $50.16 million. Hold remained consistent, just under the 9.23% mark seen in both 2024 and 2025.
January 2026’s 9.15% hold is nearly identical to the 9.23% recorded in both 2024 and 2025.
Tennessee remains unique as a digital-only sports betting state. There are no retail sportsbooks. All $540.4 million in January handle came from mobile operators.
That structure removes retail volatility and focuses the market entirely on online engagement. It also means Tennessee’s growth trajectory depends exclusively on digital competition and customer acquisition dynamics. By January 2026, that digital ecosystem appears mature.
