UK regulator issues licence warning to Spribe

Regulation

Following a review of Spribe OÜ’s operating licence under section 116 of the Gambling Act 2005 the UK Gambling Commission found that the licensee had been operating without the appropriate licence between 28 May 2021 and 30 October 2025..

As a result of this, the commission determined that the licensee had failed to adequately uphold the requirements of the Licensing Objectives, in particular: preventing gambling from being a source of crime or disorder, being associated with crime or disorder or being used to support crime (section 1(a) of the Act).

This gave rise to concerns in respect of the licensee’s suitability to conduct licensed activities, specifically the competence of the licensee.

In line with the commission’s licensing, compliance and enforcement policy statement and the Indicative sanctions guidance the commission has decided to impose a warning to the licensee under section 117(1)(a) of the Act.

The licensee co-operated with the commission throughout the investigation and took corrective steps to address the identified concerns.

.The date the Commission suspended the Licensee’s operating licence preventing any gambling facilities from being offered
