Arizona now accepting event wagering license applications

The Arizona Department of Gaming (Department) announced that it will begin accepting new applications for limited event wagering licenses – a license type that allows an event wagering operator to partner with a racetrack or additional wagering facility (commonly known as off-track betting) that holds a permit issued by the Division of Racing.

The Department may issue up to ten limited event wagering at ten specific locations, “Applicants for limited event wagering operator licenses will undergo a thorough licensing evaluation process structured to ensure consumer protection, ”said Cliff Holden, Assistant Director of Certification and Licensing for the Department.

“We look forward to receiving new applications for limited event wagering within the state of Arizona.”

Applicants must submit their completed applications within this timeframe to be considered for a license. Since the launch of legal event wagering and sports betting in Arizona in 2021, people have wagered $34.6 billion, generating approximately $185.8 million in event wagering privilege fees for the state.
